Open source project fools AI scrapers with poisoned font
The open-source project ShieldFont allows content creators to embed scrambled text into their websites that remains readable to humans but appears as nonsense to automated AI scrapers. By altering the underlying font files, the tool prevents large language models from accurately ingesting protected text during the training process. This development provides a technical method for publishers and artists to exert more control over how their data is harvested by third-party artificial intelligence systems.
