Your brain on AI

A study from the MIT Media Lab indicates that relying on AI chatbots to summarize news headlines and images can significantly impair a person's ability to accurately evaluate the truthfulness of information. Over a four-week period, participants who used these tools became 21% less effective at identifying misleading content compared to those who did not. This suggests that AI summarization may inadvertently diminish critical thinking skills and increase vulnerability to misinformation.
