Google says 180 billion images and videos now carry SynthID watermarks as detector goes public
Google has launched a website that allows users to verify whether images, videos, or audio clips were produced by AI. This tool expands the reach of SynthID, Google's watermarking technology, to detect content generated by both Google models and those from third-party developers like OpenAI. By providing a public verification mechanism, the initiative aims to increase transparency around synthetic media and help users identify potentially manipulated digital content.
