Poolside has released Laguna S 2.1, a 118B-parameter open-weight Mixture-of-Experts model designed specifically for agentic coding tasks. The model utilizes 8B activated parameters per token and supports a 1M token context window in both thinking and standard modes. By offering high-level performance with significantly fewer active parameters, the model aims to provide developers with efficient, specialized coding capabilities. Its weights are now available for access on Hugging Face.
