MS Paint and Photos inivisibly watermark even locally generated output with GUID
Microsoft has updated its Paint and Photos applications to embed invisible GUID watermarks into images created using built-in AI features. This metadata allows the company to track the origin of AI-generated content locally, even after files are exported or modified. The change aligns with broader industry efforts to implement provenance standards for synthetic media. By marking these files at the point of creation, Microsoft increases the transparency of AI-generated assets within its software ecosystem.
