Europe’s AI labeling and transparency rules are now in effect
The European Union has introduced new regulations requiring labels on all realistic AI-generated content, including deepfakes and manipulated media. This policy aims to increase transparency for digital audiences by making the synthetic nature of such content immediately recognizable. Developers and platforms operating within the EU will now be held responsible for implementing these disclosure standards to mitigate risks of misinformation.
