InduceKV: Fixed-Footprint Continual Adaptation of Multimodal LLMs via Inducing KV Memories

Researchers have introduced InduceKV, a method for updating multimodal large language models without increasing their deployment footprint or relying on growing replay storage. By using induced key-value memories to store task-specific information, the model can adapt to new domains while maintaining a fixed parameter size. This approach addresses the challenge of catastrophic forgetting and computational overhead in long-term model training, offering a way for systems to evolve continuously within restricted hardware environments.
