Xiaomi-Robotics-1 shows that more data beats bigger models when training robots to move

Xiaomi has developed Xiaomi-Robotics-1 using over 100,000 hours of human motion data captured via handheld cameras. The company found that increasing the quantity of training data leads to more significant performance gains than simply scaling up the model size. While these results suggest a clear path for improving robotic dexterity, the system’s absolute success rate in physical tasks remains limited.
