Turing Award winner Rich Sutton founds Oak Lab to build AI agents that learn on their own

Turing Award winner Richard Sutton has launched a Toronto-based startup called Oak Lab to develop AI agents capable of continuous, autonomous learning. Sutton, a pioneer in reinforcement learning, intends to move beyond current deep learning techniques, which he characterizes as inefficient. By focusing on systems that learn directly from their environments, the project aims to create more adaptable and capable artificial intelligence models.
