Security vulnerability reports have exploded since AI models started hunting for bugs
Security researchers and software organizations reported a record 1,500 high-severity and critical software vulnerabilities in June 2026, more than triple the previous monthly high. This surge coincides with the widespread deployment of AI-powered tools designed to automate the discovery of security flaws. While these systems help identify risks more efficiently, the dramatic increase highlights a shift in how software vulnerabilities are uncovered and managed at scale.
