EQT Is Backing $2 Billion Small-Battery Push to Enable AI

EQT Infrastructure is investing $2 billion into a fleet of small-scale battery systems designed to support power-hungry data centers and industrial facilities. By placing these energy storage units directly at project sites, the initiative aims to bypass traditional grid connection delays and lower electricity costs for AI infrastructure. This move addresses the increasing bottleneck of power availability for data centers currently struggling to connect to the PJM Interconnection, the largest electricity grid in the United States.
