Google thinks SpaceX’s Starship has to launch 1,800 times before space data centers get off the ground

Google has sent an advanced AI chip into orbit as a test for future space-based data processing. Experts at Google estimate that SpaceX must complete roughly 1,800 Starship launches to establish the necessary infrastructure for these extraterrestrial computing centers. This project marks an initial step in exploring whether high-performance AI hardware can reliably function in orbit to reduce data latency for space missions.
