Over half of Americans fear losing both their jobs and their independent thinking to AI, survey finds

A survey of nearly 52,000 Americans conducted by Anthropic reveals that 64 percent of respondents worry about AI-driven job displacement, while 56 percent fear the technology will diminish their capacity for independent thought. Despite these anxieties, daily users of AI tools report significantly lower levels of concern regarding these impacts. The findings highlight a persistent divide between widespread public apprehension toward integrating AI into the workplace and the perspectives of those who engage with the technology regularly.
