AlloyDB Ships Proxy Models That Replace LLM Calls with Local Inference Inside the Database

Google has launched AlloyDB AI functions that allow users to replace expensive external large language model calls with lightweight, locally trained proxy models. By moving inference directly into the database, this architecture eliminates the latency of network requests and increases data throughput by up to 2,400 times. This approach enables faster, high-volume processing for analytical tasks that previously required consistent communication with outside AI services.
