DiscoSign: Discourse-Aware Text to Sign Language Gloss Translation

Apple researchers have introduced DiscoSign, a translation framework designed to convert written text into sign language glosses by incorporating discourse-level context. Unlike previous systems that process information one sentence at a time, this approach accounts for the grammatical and linguistic dependencies across entire conversations. This development aims to improve the coherence and accuracy of sign language generation by moving beyond isolated sentence structures.
