ArXiv caps submissions at two per month as AI paper flood overwhelms the preprint server

ArXiv will limit researchers to two submissions per month starting in October 2026 to address a rapid increase in traffic. Submissions to the cs.AI category have grown sixfold over the last two years, leading the platform to implement restrictions against the high volume of low-quality papers that currently overwhelm its moderation systems.
