AstraZeneca, Sanofi, and Boehringer Ingelheim have invested in the startup Owkin to utilize its artificial intelligence for streamlining the pharmaceutical research pipeline. While AI can currently generate thousands of potential drug candidates in seconds, researchers face significant challenges in efficiently validating these leads. This collaboration aims to address that bottleneck by using algorithmic analysis to better prioritize which chemical compounds are most likely to succeed in clinical trials.
