Microsoft launches its own cybersecurity model MAI-Cyber-1-Flash but still depends on OpenAI for the toughest tasks
Microsoft has introduced MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, a compact artificial intelligence model designed specifically for cybersecurity tasks. By handling routine operations internally with 96 percent accuracy on the CyberGym benchmark, the system aims to reduce operational costs by 50 percent. More complex security threats are still routed to GPT-5.4 for analysis. This hybrid approach allows Microsoft to manage heavy security workloads more efficiently while maintaining access to advanced reasoning capabilities for the most difficult challenges.
