An AI Wrote 300 Virus Genomes From Scratch. Sixteen Actually Came Alive
Researchers have used artificial intelligence to design sixteen synthetic bacteriophages, viruses capable of targeting and destroying specific drug-resistant bacteria. This approach could provide a new method for treating infections that no longer respond to traditional antibiotics.
