NVIDIA Announces CUDA Rust with cuda-oxide (SIMT) and cutile-rs (Tile) for Compile-Time-Safe GPU Kernels

NVIDIA has launched two open-source projects, cuda-oxide and cutile-rs, designed to integrate Rust as a primary language for developing GPU kernels. These tools allow developers to write CUDA code using Rust’s memory safety features, utilizing different compilation pathways for SIMT and Tile programming models. By supporting Rust at the kernel level, NVIDIA aims to provide a more robust development environment for GPU-accelerated computing.
