Anthropic will deploy 2 gigawatts of AMD GPUs for Claude in a deal worth up to $5 billion

AMD has announced a partnership to invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic to expand the company's AI computing capacity. As part of this deal, Anthropic will deploy up to 2 gigawatts of Instinct MI450 AI GPUs utilizing the Helios rack-scale cluster architecture. This infrastructure expansion aims to support the development of increasingly complex AI models while diversifying the hardware ecosystem beyond current market leaders.
