Spotify Asks Artists to Disclose Whether They’re Humans or AI
Spotify is introducing an AI Persona label for artist profiles that do not represent real people to increase transparency regarding the origins of streaming content. Starting in mid-September, the platform will apply these badges to identified accounts and exclude their music from algorithmic and editorial recommendations. This change shifts how the service manages AI-generated content within its discovery ecosystem, effectively sequestering non-human artists from the curated playlists that drive the majority of user traffic on the platform.
