Anthropic Wins Court Challenge to US Supply-Chain Risk Label
A federal judge ruled that the Department of Defense acted unconstitutionally when it labeled Anthropic an artificial intelligence supply-chain risk. The court determined the Pentagon blacklisted the company in retaliation for its public critiques of government AI policy. This decision mandates the removal of the ban, clearing the way for federal agencies to utilize Anthropic technology. By overturning this designation, the ruling limits the government's ability to use regulatory frameworks to penalize private companies for expressing dissenting views on public policy.
