Google's "Frozen v2" chip reportedly bakes Gemini's architecture directly into silicon for efficiency gains

Google is reportedly developing a custom server chip, referred to internally as Frozen v2, that would build Gemini architecture directly into the silicon to speed up inference. Coverage describes a goal of making AI inference six to ten times more efficient than current TPUs, with a launch not expected until around 2028. The reports are unconfirmed by Google.
