Stripe declares we're living in the singularity and uses it as a reason not to IPO

In a letter to investors, Stripe declares January 1 the "beginning of the singularity" and uses that as a reason to stay private. Not that it needs one: revenue grew 41 percent in the first half of the year, and the company confirmed its $8 billion-plus acquisition of OpenRouter. Declaring the singularity is in vogue right now.
